Syrah
AKA: Shiraz

One of the world’s truly great black grape varieties. Widely planted around the world, it is tough, muscular and well suited to a Mediterranean climate. It can produce outstanding wines alone or in blends that are powerfully scented, richly flavoured and gloriously textured. Many key red wine styles feature Syrah and the best include the wines of the Cote-Rotie and old-vine Barossa Shiraz.
