Marsanne
Marsanne is one of two quintessential northern Rhône grape varieties and is usually blended with Roussanne to make the dry whites of Crozes Hermitage, St.Joseph, Côtes du Rhône and at its best, the rare white Hermitage. Good examples are rarely found outside of the Rhone but Australia and California do make some. As a blend the heavily structured and powerful Marsanne adds to Roussanne’s delicacy and finesse.
