Super clean and fresh on the nose with a stoney character and tight, spicy fruit. The wine immediately expands once in the mouth and delivers waves of concentrated melon and citrus fruit with a hint of spice, riding a wave of racy acidity. Throughout, the wine shows a fine structure, great intensity and real class always hinting at it's pedigree.

Currently (in 2010) the wine is young and needs a year or two to open up to a stage where its drinking. It will drink quite well now but you need to like your Chablis tight and mineral and let it develop in a decanter or glass for a while.

Domaine des Malandes' main objective in the winemaking process consists in affording the maximum amount of possibilities for the soil to express itself.

Our vines in the Grand cru Vaudésir occupy a surface of 0 ha 90 divided into 3 parcels. On average, they are 30 years old . The soil is heavy with clay in some places and the vines always look like they are “suffering”. Harvesting can be done later because the rootstock 41B brings higher acidity, perfect for a wine intended for ageing and the other rootstock 3309 develops sufficient natural richness. Production varies of course but for the last 10 years the average of 43 hl/ha is pretty impressive.

Serve lightly chilled with delicate recipes made from fish or lobster.
