Wineaux's notes
Notes from the producer
Absolutely delicious and really unique blend of white Garnacha (Grenache) and Viognier which delivers a truly exceptional and interesting white wine. Like so many of Spain's new wave of white wines there is plenty of aromatic flowers and fruity notes on the nose and the palate is rich but mineral and extremely food friendly.Try, try ,try - don't be turned off because you haven't heard of it. For those who know, this one's a little like a Rhone white.
Tasting
Perceptible flavours prevailing floral scents such us white roses, fresh white fruits (litchis) and a mineral touch. Complete and potent entrance full of well integrated flavors in the mouth. It´s creamy with a extremely fresh and mineral end that brings elegance to the wine.
Service
We recommend serving this wine at 10º-12ºC.
Never heard of Terra Alta? Well its an inland county of Catalonia that is slowly getting a reputation for producing some of Spain's most interesting and serious red wines. It has, of course been producing wines for generations and we are overjoyed to be representing their top, ground-breaking winery. These guys are leading the way in the new wave of Spanish wines from Catalonia. We're talking about maximising varietal expression, minimalist winemaking, stringent vineyard management, low yields and perfectionist winemakers... all the stuff we love to hear.
Technical info
Wine made mainly from the region´s traditional grape, White Garnacha (50%), from 40 years old vineyards from the terroirs “tapas” and “panal”; Viognier (40%) and Muscat petit grain (10%). After fermentation in stainless steel, we work the Viogner on its lees and the White Garnacha is aged for four months in 300 liter French oak barrels together with their lees.
