Domaine de la Pierre des Dames, Maconnais, France
Under the expert eye of winemaker Jean-Michel Aubinel, this small Macon estate is producing high quality yet inexpensive wines – something of a rarity in Burgundy. Combining artisanal and traditional French winemaking techniques, Pierre des Dames is producing wines that really reflect the place they come from, not just the grapes from which they are made.
The estate produces two AC Chardonnays – a Macon-Prisse and a Saint Veran – both of which are excellent vehicles of the Burgundian terroir: precise, mineral, complex and balanced. The two reds are both Macon-Serrieres produced from Gamay, these are great wines for those who like plenty of power in their reds, without the weight.
Fantastic value Burgundy - another Wineaux exclusive!
