Here's something different - a Brut style of Prosecco. Now, Prosecco lovers will know that most Prosecco are made with some residual sugar to give it that trademark off-dry style character - this is actually bone dry, and boy does it work. You get all the flamboyant floral aromatics on the nose and the dry finish actually makes the fruit taste much cleaner and mineral in the mouth. The fruit is all pears and fresh green apple. In order to make this style, Bianca Vigna have selected their very best grapes available (the grapes designated DOCG and not DOC) and given them extra time on their lees to develop flavour and depth. A fine substitute to Champagne and though not the same, many have commented that this is actually better - try with confidence.

This Brut is the lastest effort from BiancaVigna and it is the only wine that mentions the vintage on the back label, the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG brut is the “alter ego” of DOCG Extadry into the brut version. Produced for the first time in 2009 it will always be a limited quantity release. It is a fine wine, elegant with lingering flavour, perfect as an aperitif or with raw fish dishes.
