Aligoté
Very much the second green grape in Burgundy (where Chardonnay reigns supreme), Aligoté tends to produces fairly neutral, lemon scented, light white wines. It’s home is the appellation of Bouzeron in the Cote Chalonnaise where it is the only white grape permitted. Though it doesn’t produce any really stunning whites, Aligoté does provide good, easy drinking at an excellent price.
